Port NOLA has been awarded a $2.5 million U.S. Maritime Administration grant to support the current container-on-barge shuttle service between New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Memphis, and to launch a new container-on-barge shuttle service on the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal.

Leadership Award from the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) on April 10,
2018, for the success of its Clean Truck Replacement Incentive Program (Clean TRIP) which
used federal and state clean diesel grants to voluntarily improve air quality by replacing old
diesel cargo trucks with new, cleaner-burning models.
Gov. John Bel Edwards appointed Charles H. Ponstein to the Board of
Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans as the St. Bernard Parish representative on the
seven-member regional board. Ponstein was sworn in during today’s monthly Board meeting
and will serve a five-year term succeeding William T. Bergeron.
